What are the costs of the tests?
The cost of the evaluation filtration and test report is £2,500.
If the BGAK fails to remove on average of 95% of siloxanes from the test gas, the evaluation will be free of charge.
If the operator subsequently decides to order any of the PpTek range of BioGas filters the £2,500 will be refunded in full.
What is included in the evaluation and filtration test?
Gas will be captured before any filtration takes place to give the untreated contamination data. The gas feed will then be attached to the BioGas AK evaluation system to clean the gas.
Several samples will be taken over a period of a day. All samples collected will be sent to an independent laboratory to analyse the untreated and treated samples. Additional samples can also be taken by an operator during the evaluation if required.
The results of the evaluation filter will be submitted to the operator as a tool to assist in the decision making process for subsequent installation of a BioGas AK system on site.
The evaluation system replicates the function of a full sized unit, using identical media, gas exposure time and gas from the actual site. PpTek will also be establishing the point at which the filter becomes saturated with siloxanes which will enable PpTek to calculate the point at which the filtration medium needs to be regenerated.
What is needed at a site to evaluate successful gas filtration?
To enable Pptek to perform the gas evaluation and subsequent filtration, a gas outlet with a outlet sampling valve will be required. At most sites either running engine – generator sets or a gas flare a suitable outlet can be found.
